Ulufer Celik is a Turkish artist who lives and works in the Netherlands.
Ulufer’s recent work addresses the aspect of ownership through modes of time, specifically those which are focused on stolen archaeological artefacts and their excavations from the ancient landscapes of Turkey to recent terrains and nations. The materiality in her work is an experimentation in different mediums such as film-making, photography and drawing, that function to blur the territories of linearity of past and future, dreamscape and reality. Besides exploring the political potentialities of narrative and myth-making, her work is supported with artistic research in the realm of archeology, history and spatial practices.
