Dario D'Aronco | CBKR - Rotterdamse Kunstenaars

Dario D'Aronco

I see my research constructed along binomial concepts, such as invisible/visible and stability/mutation.
This can also be defined as spectral, the spectrum between opposing poles, trying to visualise the transaction in between.
I found this idea applied to all my works, treated with different mediums and subjects.

Music, ancient culture, philosophy and science are the main source of inspiration.

More recently I am doing sculptures by using 3d technology, generated from my own body through different types of 3d scanning.

The research I am currently working on is supported by CBK through O & O grant. It is about screening my DNA in an attempt to remap my identity and its symbolic system. I will travel along the haplogroups to which my DNA belongs, throughout the ancestral routes from which our ancestors have migrated thousands of years ago.

During the journey, I will collect material in the form of sculptural elements that will be processed in the form of artworks.
